Immersion Mechanism

$500.00

Wheel-thrown and hand-built porcelain fired to cone 5, then luster fired with silver luster.

10.5” x 8.75” 7.75”

This artwork is a sculptural piece featuring a metallic, industrial form reminiscent of a futuristic or retro-futuristic teapot. The central body is rounded and polished, creating a reflective surface that captures light and surroundings subtly but effectively. A circular handle on one side contrasts the solid body with its smooth, open ring shape, while a spout-like extension on the other side is adorned with regularly spaced holes, giving it a perforated texture and a sense of function beyond mere aesthetics. Below the main body, a band of similar perforations encircles the sculpture, adding rhythm and pattern to the design. At the top, there is a small bulbous element that resembles a nut or cap, contributing a mechanical, almost robotic character to the piece. The entire sculpture rests on a flat base supported by short, sturdy legs, amplifying its industrial essence.
